Exchange of artists between Spain and the Netherlands

INTRODUCTION

EDUARTE is an exchange programme between Spain and the Netherlands in the field of contemporary art and education. “Education” and “Art” therefore are the two basic elements constituting the objectives of the programma. Eduarte is based in Amsterdam with an office in Salobreņa (Granada). Eduarte is financed from various sources in a combination of art sales, formal national and regional subsidies and private sponsoring.

Eduarte manages and endorses on a daily basis a network of professional artists, mueums, galeries and public organisations in the fields of culture and education. The programme desires
to promote the exchange of contemporary art between Spain and the Netherlands and to stimulate exhibitions and presentations in both countries.

In addition to the exhibitions of exchange in both countries, Eduarte stimulates the education on contemporary art by
means of workshops and lectures for art teachers and by
means of educational programmes for youngsters and adults.

At the moment about 30 professional artists in both countries participate in Eduarte.

In Spain Eduarte collaborates with 7 municipal councils, 3 galleries, a museum in Galicia and moreover in Madrid with the Photo School EFTI and the Faculty of Modern Arts of the Univesity of Complutense.

In the Netherlands exhibitions of Spanish artists are organized in 3 places in Amsterdam, in a gallery, in the Photo School ‘Nederlandse Foto vakschool’ and in a church in Durgerdam.

Moreover Eduarte collaborates with galleries in Zwolle, IJlst and Leiden.

Every year some 5 exchanges with 10 exhibitions in Spain and the Netherlands are organized.

All events in 2012 are presented in www.eduarte.eu. Here also a survey of events in the preceding years can be encountered.
